Who is VoyageTrek Travel (www.voyagetrek.com) and why should I register and submit my company?

VoyageTrek’s dual mission is to help people find their ideal vacations and leisure activities, and to help tour operators find their ideal customers.  Our goal is to make VoyageTrek.com the best place to find leisure activities and travel information, tour operators, and people who love adventure and travel.  Please also read the about us page to learn more about our company.

Why register and submit your information?  Answer:  Free Marketing!  It is free to register and submit information on our website, and advertising is kept separate from your free listings and information.  Submitting complete and accurate information will also get your company ranked higher in our search results page versus other tour operators, which will lead to more traffic to your website (see ranking methodology page for more information).  We provide a free, useful, and valuable marketing vehicle for tour operators to reach new customers and take advantage of our investment in promoting active and adventure travel on the web. 

AdventureMatch Program (Optional Program – Step 5 of the Submission Process):

Our directory is free for consumers to use, and free for travel providers to submit information.  Our AdventureMatch Program is a separate program and proprietary advertising lead referral system that travel providers can apply to online via www.voyagetrek.com/operator/.  We review each online application and select only the best travel providers in each market for this exclusive network, and we help travelers who want assistance to find the best travel providers that match their vacation needs.  We send these leads the same day to matching travel providers, and charge them a small referral fee, with the goal of being the best quality and most cost-effective source of new customers for our AdventureMatch travel company partners.  In order to maximize our value to consumers and our lead referral partners, this program is only available right now for a select number of categories and activities, but you can register and we’ll be in touch when it launches in your category and area.

AdventureSelect Program:  This program will be launching later in 2008 and is also a lead referral service, but allows users to select one, two, or three tour operators from a short-list of companies matching their preferences and receive brochures and more information from just those companies.

Who can register and submit information on www.voyagetrek.com?

Only owners, authorized employees, or authorized affiliates of a tour operator and travel provider may submit information on behalf of that company.  Only tour operators and travel providers who directly sell and lead vacations may submit information at this time.  Other companies will be deleted.  We define tour operator and travel provider as any company that leads activities or trips directly related to the activities on this web site, including guided tours, ranches and lodges, chartered yachts, and other vacation types as listed on our website.  Travel agents, resellers, information websites, are not authorized to register and submit information, and will not be posted on this website.  (Note:  We will eventually add special listings and results that will highlight specialized travel agents and related websites, separate from the tour operator results, so please check back on our progress occasionally). 

What happens once I register and submit my company’s information?

The information will immediately go live on VoyageTrek.com.  However, all entries are subject to editorial review and changes, and our editors may edit or remove any tour operators or information that they deem inappropriate, inaccurate, or otherwise not useful to our web site users.

AdventureMatch Applications:  Step 5 of the process allows you to apply, with no obligation, to our exclusive lead referral network.  However, we are only offering this program in special locations and activities, so we will be in touch with you only when the program is available to your location and specialty, with pricing and more information on how to get started.  So, registering now is no-risk and just helps us to get back in touch with you when we are ready to drive you qualified leads.

How should I submit information?

Here is a Step by Step guide to help walk you through the registration and information submission process.  Start by clicking the ‘Continue’ button at the bottom of this page:  http://www.voyagetrek.com/operator/). 

1. Step 1:  (Starts at:  http://www.voyagetrek.com/operator/submission-search.php )  Please enter your primary consumer web address into the search box on this page:  .  We then search the active tour operator database to see if there is a match and customize the registration and submission process accordingly.  Tour operators are only allowed to have one company entry and duplicate or multiple web addresses for the same company are not allowed.

2. Step 2:  This information sets up your login information and provides VoyageTrek Travel with internal-use-only information regarding you and your company.  VoyageTrek Travel takes measure to protect this information and adhere to our privacy policy.  At this time, only one user is authorized to register per each tour operator, so please make sure the registrant is the appropriate and authorized person.  Here are some details of each data field:
1. User Name:  This is the name you will use to login, so make sure it is memorable.
2. Password:  This is required at login, so make sure it is memorable, but obscure enough to be secure.  Please make this at least 5 characters.
3. Name & Title & Contact Information:  Your name, or the person who we should use as the primary contact at your company (and that person authorizes and is knowledgeable you are entering their information).

3. Step 3:  This information is what we’ll show to consumers on VoyageTrek.com.  If our editors have listed your company, then these fields may already be complete and some fields use the information you provide to search engines on your website, but you can edit these fields as you see fit.  Please use factual and accurate language when describing your company and services. 
1. Tour Operator Company Name:  This is the brand name you use with consumers and on your website
2. Web Address:  This was entered on Step 1.  Please confirm this is the primary consumer website address you use.  Otherwise, you’ll have to start over at Step 1.
3. Email:  Email consumers should use for general inquiries about your trips and services.
4. Phone:  Phone consumers should use for general inquiries about your trips and services.
5. Headline:  Short, one sentence description of your company and trips.
6. Relevant Keywords:  One to three word descriptions of your company, trips, destinations, and services, separated by commas.
7. Short Description:  Several sentence description of your company.  This is shown as a default on searches.
8. Extended Description:  Long description of your company.  This is shown when consumers choose the expanded viewing option on your company listing.  You may want to excerpt text from your website that details the information about your company, trips, destinations, and services.

4. Step 4:  This section has individual modules that capture information specific to your activities and guided trips, and synchs the activities and destinations offered in your itineraries and services to the search navigation of VoyageTrek.com.  Please only enter Activity and Destination combinations and module where you specialize and where these are the primary focus of a specific itinerary.  Do not enter Activities that are side trips or optional, but rather the ones that are core to your company and itineraries.  Click the ‘Continue’ button if you need more modules for entering your information, and when you are done and read to submit the information click the ‘Done’ button.  You can also return and add or edit trip information later.
1. Activity:  This should match the core activity offered on your itinerary or services.  It is possible that an individual itinerary or your services have multiple Activities, and you can enter additional Activities in additional modules.  For example, one itinerary might offer River Rafting, and also offer Fly Fishing, on the same trip.  Enter these as two modules, keeping the rest of the fields of information about that itinerary the same.
2. Destination:  US State or Country your itineraries visit.  As with the Activity, this should match the core activity offered on your itinerary or services, and you can enter additional modules with other Destinations if an itinerary travels to multiple States or Countries, keeping the rest of the fields the same.
3. Trip Lengths:  For this Activity and Destination combination, enter the number of days offered in your individual itineraries.  For example, if you do River Rafting in Idaho and offer a 2 and 5 day itinerary, then check both these boxes.
4. Departure Months:  For this Activity and Destination combination, enter the months offered in your individual itineraries.  For example, if your company offers River Rafting in Idaho only in the Summer, then enter those individual months covered by these itineraries.
5. Best Landing URL:  Sometimes it is best just to send people to your homepage, especially if you only offer one Activity in one Destination, and if so you can leave this field blank and we will link to your homepage.  If you offer multiple Activities or Destinations, then it may be more appropriate to send people to a better matching web address (URL) for that specific search.  Approved formats for this field are:  http://www.example.com/landing, or www.example.com/landing.

5. Confirmation:  This last stage allows you to review and edit your information before posting on VoyageTrek.com, and is also the page you return to when you login in the future.  Please verify the information and accuracy as our editors will not accept or will edit erroneous information.
